The Anthony Strong Band

Anthony, a recent graduate from the Guildhall School of Music, is well known as a talented pianist and fantastic singer. He covers many different styles with his own band and has had the pleasure of playing with many artists and bands including: Shola Ama, Beverly Knight, Teish O'Day, Jocelyn Brown, Natalie Williams, Marti Pellow, and Charlotte Church.

The Anthony Strong Band performs a wide range of Sinatra classics and jazz standards and is available from quartet to 7-piece band.


The Josephine Davies Quartet

The Josephine Davies Quartet is made up of some of the finest jazz musicians on the London scene and plays a wide range of classic jazz repertoire. Josephine studied jazz saxophone at the Guildhall school of Music and Drama and, whilst there, won the 1999 Perrier Young Jazz Award with a quintet led by trumpeter Tom Allan.

She has since performed and recorded with the London Jazz Orchestra, Ronnie Scott's Vanguard Band (led by Gerard Presencer), The Laurence Cottle Big Band, Sax Appeal, Vortex Foundation Band, Matt Wates sextet, Gareth Lockrane's Groove Yard as well as a two year stint in the National Youth Jazz Orchestra.

She also runs and composes for her own quintet which can be found in our Contemporary jazz section.


The Alex Hearn Quartet

Alex was born 1982 in Essex and took up the guitar at the age of eight. By Sixteen, he began playing jazz, studying at university for a BA in music with first class honours. He also specialised further in an Mmus Masters degree in Jazz Performance at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Currently Alex is working with some of the best performers of the London Jazz scene including The Dan Banks Band, Dave o’ Brien (Porpoise Corpus), Anthony Strong, Martin Speake and Mick Hutton. The Alex Hearn Quartet can cover an array of styles from bebop and swing to latin and funk and even show tunes. Alex can also be heard on the recent advert for the new Sony walkman.


Dougie Freeman

Dougie Freeman is a very versatile pianist & vocalist with a wide range
of styles and repertoire. Anything from jazz standards to popular dance,
he performs as a solo pianist up to jazz quintet, with or without
classic male vocals. Currently studying at the Guildhall School of
Music, Dougie is constantly working closely with some of the finest
young musicians on the London scene.
