Our jazz duos and trios are a popular choice for background music at drinks receptions and dinners. With several different combinations of line-ups, these subtle but effective groups create a great relaxed atmosphere whilst letting the conversation flow.

The Alam Nathoo Trio

The Alam Nathoo Trio are equally at home with soulful standards as they are with upbeat jazz classics and add a classy flavour to the proceedings of any wedding or corporate event.

After taking up the saxophone at the age of 10, Alam has since graduated from the prestigious jazz course at the Guildhall School of Music, studying with some of the most respected musicians in the country, including Stan Sulzmann, Jean Toussaint, Tim Garland, Pete Chuchill, Martin Hathaway and Simon Purcell to name a few! Alam is a familiar face in many of London's top jazz venues and clubs.

George Philips

George graduated with a 2:1 from the prestigious jazz course at the Guildhall School of Music in 2006 and has since been a professional saxophone player running his own jazz trio and an 11-piece party band called ‘Brenthouse’ (available in our party band section).

He has appeared on television shows such as Later with Jools Holland (backing Josh Ritter), Top of the Pops (with Charlotte Church), GMTV, The National Lottery and Blue Peter (McFly). He has played at many prestigious venues such as the Royal Festival Hall, The Royal Albert Hall, The Barbican Centre, Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club and The 606 Jazz Club.

The Matt Fripp Trio

The Matt Fripp Trio (saxophone, piano and double bass) performs a wide range of classic Jazz repertoire all the way from the 1940’s to the present day. They have performed extensively in London, including the Hilton Hotels, the Tate Modern, Thames Cruises, The Shakespeare Globe, the National Gallery and many other top London venues.

Matt moved to London in 2004 to study jazz at the Guidhall School of Music with saxophonists Martin Hathaway and ex-Jazz Messenger Jean Toussaint. He has since played onboard P&O Carribean cruises ship the Oceana, in Toronto with the CUK Big Band for the 2008 International Association for Jazz Education Conference and in Jazz clubs across the South.
